Re: Lycett & Conaty 4 wheel trucks (and Brush in Australia?)

This is a very good question: Certainly there were Brush-manufactured
radial 4-wheel trucks used in NZ but how much input did Messrs Lycett
or Conaty have in their design? Despite a few articles and monographs
on tramway trucks/bogies being written during the past 30 years or
so, there is still a fairly incomplete record of the evolution of the
various designs. Some of the early writers have now died and their
knowledge (and possibly records) have been lost. It's a subject I'm
quite interested in.
Here's a question: how many Australian systems bought trucks from
Brush? Hint: at least two - but others?
And PS: the Western Springs Tramway/MOTAT is now capable of
remanufacturing Brush D-type trucks (and hopefully soon Brush-
Improved equal wheel too) the sideframe patterns recently being
completed.

I believe both Lycett and Conaty were engineers on one of the
Company Systems.
