* Z3.124 was on charter today for a GH depot
employee's kids party; it picked up a group of children on Balaclava Rd near
Kambrook Rd (outside Caulfield Park) and took them on a ride, destination
unknown. It returned to the park and dropped off the kids, who were then
treated to see Santa arrive on the back of a fire truck to hand out
presents.
* Z1.47 failed at the corner of Swanston St &
Franklin St on the down at around 14.00 with an unknown problem, by 14.10 there
was a bank of trams to Queensberry St. By 14.15, it had been pushed clear
by a Malvern tram behind, and then assisted to Victoria St siding by 14.20 by
mechanics.
* By 23.00, the boom gates at both Neerim Rd &
Glenhuntly Rd were both stuck down. Rt 67 trams were (and still are)
terminating at Glenhuntly Station.
