* As mentioned yesterday, Z1.49 recieved a new pantograph. This was because
the original one became damaged while it was working on Chapel St in the
early morning and it ripped down the overhead near Greville St. The driver
attempted to stop a garbage truck from passing through the affected section;
the truck driver misunderstood the drivers signals and assumed he was waving
and the truck missed the wire by only a few inches. The tram was pushed by
the R7 truck to Toorak Rd shunt, the truck suffered a broken axle.

* At around 7am this morning, Z1.52 broke down outside GH depot with line
breaker problems. A mechanic, on crutches, went to it's rescue and only
managed to get it moving after 25 mins. It blocked all up services and run
out cars.

* In the late morning a GH driver became ill while driving in the city, a
driver had to be taken per car to relieve him; they met at the Arts Center.

* Due to rollingstock shortages, Malvern lent another tram to GH. The
driver was taken per car to Malvern and ran out from there, forming his
normal service.
