The plaque on the side on 3501 reads:
Named in honour of
Sir Robert Risson
Chairman of the
Melbourne and Metropolitan
Tramways Board
1949-1970
Text is centred on the plaque of course! It is in Met green and
yellow.
I will write an expanded report over the weekend.
Nice to see your contributions Mal; I recall the name from about
1970. Not many (obvious) enthusiasts in attendance today. Mostly
invited guests.

The first car - 3501 - has been named Robert J H Risson in honour of
the former Chairman of the Melbourne & Metropolitan TramwaysBoard.
He fought and won to keep Melbourne's tram system when the rest of
Australia was scrapping them wholesale.
Will post pix tonight when I get home.
