* Z1.83 failed with battery problems at the corner of Queensberry and
Swanston St around 9.00 this morning, trams were to shunt from LaTrobe St
Nth. A senior driver supervising the MU shunt came down and assisted
pushing the tram into 3 shunt. By 9.35 the fault had been fixed by R7; the
tram then ran Special to Malvern depot.

* Z1.19 failed at the corner of Elgin & Lygon Sts; it was attempting to
shunt and the driver could not open the No 1 end console. With a build up
of through trams, the decision was made to drive the tram to Brunswick Depot
for repair. It was briefly inspected and assumed the lock was at fault. A
Fleet Controller was able to open the lock, and the tram travelled back to
Glenhuntly Depot (out of service) for closer inspection. The driver was
issued with a new key, as it also looked "dodgy".
