Current W Class Green WAS: 983

The
great shots of 983 freshly painted has raised a question that may be able to be
answered here.
When the decision was taken in the mid 1990's to paint
the remaining normal service W's to the green and cream with lining, etc, did
they return to the Hawthorn Green of the 1930-1950's period, or the Tramway
Green of the 1960's and '70's, or even the Green used with the gold on the
1980's 'Met' livery (was it 'Olympic Green'??)
Looking at 983, the green seems a little darker than
the hawthorn green used on the cars in the 1950's, before the end of gold lining
and cream below the window sill.
Look forward to some discussion...
Roy
