Re: citadis trams

Observed in the Oakover Road side of Preston
workshops about 9.l5 am today 30/7 citadis 3029 being
worked on prior to entering traffic. This was supposed
to be the one which had an accident while at sea but
looked fine this morning.
Also seen 2.08 pm today 30/7 in Swan St. eastbound at
Richmond station 30l7 "Not carrying passengers"
presumably on the way to Camberwell Depot.
Trust these observations of interest.

A fascinating photo Peter; was it taken on a fan
trip? Must have been
about 40 years ago judging from the appearance of
the people.

Note that most of the people are looking away from
the camera. I have
found that photographs of enthusiasts are often as
interesting as the
transport itself. But most fans seem to be
uncomfortable with their
photo being taken.

The young lad is obviously curios about the
photographer.

There appears to be only one female in the photo
(the person with the
scarf) but she has her back to the camera.

Some of the body language is interesting especially
the guy sitting
in the centre of the cab.

All great stuff Peter. The good thing about
TramsDownUnder is that we
can discuss non-engineering aspects of our hobby
without being
accused of going "off topic"!

Well, I invented 'a gaggle of grovelling gunzels' to
describe the collective
behaviour of the more intellectually challenged
members of the local
(Wellington) bus enthusiasts group, who go into
pathetic paroxysms of
fawning and forelock-tugging whenever they meet a
manager of one of the
local bus companies. But I'm sure that is not
appropriate for tram
enthusiasts :).

Hi Guys,

With all the chat about 983, thought I's send a
couple of shots of her whilst I've been training
staff on her.

Greg

G'day Greg, very purty tram, can't wait to see Ws back
in service,whats
the drum on the braking? both the setup and the
performance,how about
some cab shots!!have spotted you trundling around
the city a few
times,will try and catch up.Gratifying response to"a
vexed
question",I think so far Jack has won the Gong,"a
clang
of....",Paul,yes about 40 years ago,scanned from a
small print in
which another Birney can just be made out at some
distance behind.The
lesser spotted gunzels are from left,Andrew
Vigus,his elder brother
Wilbur[a fairly dour character] and a fella called
Joe Kellett,I
presume the kid is a fine specimen of the young of
the lesser
spotted, fascinating to think that he would now be in
his
forties.Regards all,Peter Bruce.ps.havn't seen any
of these people
for I don't know how long, but I would be surprised
if they had
disappeared completely ie lost the faith.
