Clasp brakes are the same as on Melb #15 trucks, as opposed to single brakes shoe like W2's had, I found them okay but, in the yeasr it ran (1952-57) motormen hated it for being un responsive in braking, also, it had a Tomlinson coupler but was not wired as such, only for towing. No Dynamic brakes. PCM control, same as  standard H.

H cars not as noisy as a W2 with spurs, I found them quite exceptable, perhaps we were spoiled by the double helical gears of Melbourne for so many years.

September 1958, last line, Vic square to Cheltenham. Car F1 269.

What's a clasp brake, Greg?

Were they good?

Any other brakes like dynamics or track brake on the cars?

I only have a hazy memory of the cars but remember I really liked the bodywork on them and they were noisy at speed on the way to Glenelg. Must have been a buzz to get that car back on some real work for awhile.

When did the rest of the Adelaide tram system shut down?
