Funny, Peter.
I know what you mean.
It looks impressive. I like it. But I'm looking at it as an effective
looking people mover, not aesthetically.
I've only had a couple of rides on those cars in Adelaide. They were very
noisy inside at speed and are separated from traffic most of the way. I
don't find what's left of the system attractive in a railfan sense, though
I'm glad its there.
I think Adelaide has a lot of potential for a couple more light rail lines.
They would have had another one ten years or so ago but the state government
opted for an O-bahn guided busway in a package deal with Mercedes-Benz who
supplied the buses and the contacts for actual construction. I think it was
a real good ride and was working very effectively last time I checked but
it's just not my cup of tea. I hope its passengers disagree.
Cheers,
Bob Murphy

In a message dated 9 Oct 2001 @ 1335 PDT, "IS Edit" <[email protected]>that's
parted the electrons with this:Hi, Graeme
I know you can be acerbic at times, but...
Nice shot WTF is it?
Very modern looking body but very old fashioned looking trucks. Shame it
doesn't have PCC trucks under it to give it some legs or
is it a goer?
Bob Murphy
it has what looks like Standard or Commonwealth trucks under it. And
the best looking aspect of the car (sorry, couldn't resist...)
