got off the ground despite at least 2 false starts. I would be most
interested if anyone who is closer to the action than I am knows if
there is any likelihood of Brisbane's LRT being resurrected?
Well, I'm not particularly close to the action, but it seems to me
that if LRT is likely to have any real chance of actually being
implemented in Brisbane, it would have to be on a somewhat different
basis to that originally proposed for the "Federation grant" funding.
That proposal always struck me as being something to get some easy
money out of the Commonwealth, rather than fulfilling an adequately
researched and fully considered transit need!
I know Peter Hyde(?) at Fernygrove had to rebuild the museum there after the
grand plans for a "LRT Tech" went awry - does anyone know if the Govt
coughed up with compensation for that little debacle?
