CRASH ! [Re: TAN>Do Hong Kong Cars Count?]

Well it was a downhill run from here folks! We just let the brakes
off B2001 and coasted in a brick wall! Suicide trip they say.

I will be following Peter's request and not replying to Greg's
remarks - but clearly none is needed.

I will however correct him on just one (of several) points. I live in
Brisbane - have done for 2½ years. I did work for Ansett NZ for a
while - until Qantas steered it into the drink, and then I "retired".

So sorry I can't assist with any tram pics of this fair city. Most of
the Kiwis up here I know are very fine folk - some are even
interested in trams! A real pity that so far the LRT plans have not
got off the ground despite at least 2 false starts. I would be most
interested if anyone who is closer to the action than I am knows if
there is any likelihood of Brisbane's LRT being resurrected? I know
Peter Hyde(?) at Fernygrove had to rebuild the museum there after the
grand plans for a "LRT Tech" went awry - does anyone know if the Govt
coughed up with compensation for that little debacle?

Mr London,

Inflamatory remarks were started on your side of the Tasman by
someone
making insensative comments about 16000 Ansett employees losing
their jobs
which really is'nt "On-Topic" It appears that the only people that
actually
contribute to this group are to be castigated and pilloried at
every turn.
As for not being slow to rise to an argument, guilty as charged
when it
comes to ignorance and arrogance, the latter you obviously are
familiar
with, to suggest I cannot welcome a fellow enthusiast to the group,
a
courtesy that is common amongst members of all other groups I have
been
involved with. And if you knew me, you would realize that I am the
last
person who would want a Melbourne clique as I believe I am an
international
tram enthusiast, it's people like yourself that want to lead narrow
tunnelled visioned lives that screw up good natured friendly
lists.And as
for "matey" correspondence, I guess that's what comes form trying
to be
friendly and helping people in the hobby and again, I make no
appologies for
being guilty as charged.

As usual, the people who were not there (in reference to WGB's
excellent
posts) are the first to become experts about what they never saw
and those
who do not work in the industry are the first to be dogmatic about
which
type of tram is the best etc. Jealousy is a terrible curse.

So as for you Mr London, you should read your own remarks and go
have a long
look in the mirror, take a tablet and have a good lay down, stay in
NZ it's
small enough for someone with your attitude. As for the list, well
you can
have your victory, time is too short and there are other lists with
more
welcoming and generous of spirit people, I will confine my posts to
those.

Mr King - if you would stop your inflammatory, irrelevant comments
and stick to what this group is all about, there would less need
for
you to be reminded of normal courtesies.
Your previous comments on this group indicate to me that you are
not
slow to leap into an argument - which creates discomfort for
others
in the group. Nor do we need your snide remarks, e.g. as below.
Also I do not think it is up to you to "Welcome aboard" anyone to
this group - This is not some little Melbourne clique for you to
carry on your "matey" private correspondence: post to individuals
for
that.
Just stick to the subject, avoid the personal remarks, cut the
arrogance and remember there are 67 other members please.

Yes John,

Welcome aboard, don't worry about some members here who's only
contributions
are to shoot other people down, "the woods are full of them"!

Greg

Hi, gang!

Unfortunately, Hong Kong really does not count
as "TramsDownUnder".
However, we have had off-topic posts on Calcutta previously.
So
John, or
anybody else, if you wish to post a picture or two, go ahead.
But you
must
include "TAN" or "OT" in the subject line to indicate that it
is a
non-TramsDownUnder topic.

Thanks,
