The number 15 used to be shared between Brunswick and South Melbourne before
it became the 16 permanently. It is rumoured to be returning to Brunswick
from Malvern and once again becoming the 15.
About 1980 Camberwell 72, was shared between Camberwell depot and Malvern
before C'well went completely Z. When Malvern took over 72 completely, it
lost the East Malvern route, 3.
The 77 used to be operated by Glenhuntly and the 78/79 shared by Kew &
Glenhuntly. The A1's (pole trams) used to be used in Chapel St because the
overhead etc had not been adjusted for pantographs.
Kew depot used to assist Malvern with some extra school trams on the 69
until the mid nineties I think.
Essendon and South Melbourne used to assist Malvern with Toorak, 8. But
that too stopped, in the eighties I think.
That is all I can remember.
Andrew.

Hope everyone had a happy new year!
I was just wondering, which tram routes in Melbourne have changed
depots from where there operated from?
I know about 16 changing from South Melbourne to Malvern, but are
there others???
I would assume 78/79 would have once been at Kew as they used to be
run with A1 class trams during the 1990's, if yes, then why did they
change it?
