Christmas drinkies and goings on

On approaching the watering hole about 1800hrs it was apparent that all was not well. There at the Elizabeth St stop in Latrobe St. was C 3006 proudly showing its pedigree on the desto but without its panto sucking life giving electrons from the grid. Held up behind was A2 265 standing astride the X-over, then another C (Kew Depot) and a C/C W brought up the rear.

As the weather was pretty warm (30ish) we decided to observe the action from the safety of the Duke of Kent bar. Barry George, an early arrival, said that the action started happening about 1730 and a van had attended but had left the scene to go to bigger things. Barry had observed that Collins St also had a problem Citadis with a healthy bank up to the rear.

Around 1830 R010 arrived and the big yellow towbar was soon on the ground. 3006 was attached to 265 aided by a few profanities and hammers. 265 propelled 3006 across Elizabeth St to clear the X-over then drew it back though the intersection and X-over and away to probably Southbank with R010 in pursuit.

With the action back to normal, we went back to discussing trams, trains and things,  Toasting & wishing all far away and not so far away TDU members the compliments of the season.

Pulses and dust were again raised when Z2 112 flew past at 2040 on a journey from Preston to GH?

Merry Xmas and a much much better 2003
Kevin & the guys at the DOK
