Gentlemen,

I am preparing a number of tram-related artwork for display at the Linden
Gallery postcard exhibition in Feb 2003.

One work is tentatively titled "A day in the life of a W2" and depicts a
drawing of W2.510 surrounded by text depicting a typical day in service,
e.g. sounds of the tram, people's conversation, etc.

I need some assistance in describing in words the "sound" of a W2, e.g. her
compressors, traction motors, track sounds, etc.

Any suggestions gratefully acknowedged.

P.S. The Linden Postcard exhibition is an interesting one. Held at the
Linden Gallery in Acland St, St Kilda - it is sponsered by Yarra Trams and
many of the works on show depict trams/St Kilda/Luna Park in one form or
another.

My work in question is a joint effort with my 6yo daughter. She will be
applying a pop art theme to my rendering of a W2 and I'm providing the
words.

Last year I had 3 works on show - b&w photographs of various tram related
scenes in St Kilda...

- "Destination" - a closeup of Z3.185's desto box
- "Under the wires" - closeup of the overhead at Luna Park junction
- "Night tram to Brunswick" - a night shot of a B2 on the last service to E
Brunswick on a Saturday evening

Try and obtain the LP called Destination City.It contains sounds of W2's
