When photographing no 5 i noticed the Geelong no 36 was showing
through the dash. This means no 5 was last repainted in 1960.
I have photos of no 5 in Melb, when it was no 26.It featured in a
lot of P& M.T.T advertising.
The photo of no 5 in Destination City is taken at Camberwell Depot
in 1930.
One of the missed opportunities would be to bring it back to Melb,
for the 90th anniversary of the Elsternwick lines.Perhaps it could
run from Glenhuntly Station to Brighton Rd.
With reference to no 16,I last saw in running in April 1965.It was
then withdrawn.I chartered the car in Bendigo, together with nos,
12 & 20 in September 1975.I believe this car still has the original
P & M.T.T. varnish in the interior.
No 20 still has the Melb No 187 on the bulkhead.
