Hi Herman,

Did you know that those 77e's under that car were originally used by
trams
on the Victorian Railways 5"3" tramway from St.Kilda to Brighton Beach in
Melbourne. After the line quit in 59, the trucks were sold for scrap,
many
years later in the late 70's, a member of a museum group found them
(actually two sets) in the scrap yard complete, they were purchased but,
on-sold to another museum who thought it would not be possible to regauge
them to 4'81/2" (dills) and sold them to Christchurch who overhauled them
and regauged them and use them in everyday service on the loop line.
This is
the same group who scratch built a set of Peckham P-14 Max Traction
trucks
for a car being restored, all this from a country that has three fine
tramway museums and a population around the size of Melbourne! (3.Mil.)
