It was also the 30th anniversary of the end of conductors on buses in
Adelaide. But conductors remain on the H cars to Glenelg; Australia's
last "connies"?
There were people at the shoe shop who never forgave Gough Whitlam
for destroying "real" (i.e. W2) trams in Melbourne. The replacement
trams (i.e. Z class) were considered to be buses.
