At the outer terminus of Melbourne's the East Burwood tram line (no
75) there is fixed to a rock a plaque that reads as follows:
"This plaque was placed by the many friends of Michael Fraser in
celebration of his life and achievements including planning and
construction of the East Burwood tram extension opened in 1993". It
is dated 29 November 1998.
My questions are, who is (or presumably was) Michael Fraser, what
exactly was it that he did, who are these many friends he has, and
what will become of the plaque when the line is hopefully extended
further to Vermont South (given that it is virtually a buffer-stop
and will have to be moved)?
