I have just posted to files a multi-paged street map of the City area of Sydney
dating from the last years of tramways.

The map is copied from "Gregory's Illustrated Guide to Sydney", 17th Edition.
The date is not given, but the evidence (including the Circular Quay railway
under construction) places it sometime around 1950.

A small extract is attached to this message.

The map is divided into ten pages, and covers an area from The Rocks and the
Fort Macquarie tramway depot on the north to just south of Central Station, and
from *almost* the shores of Darling Harbour on the west to just east of Hyde
Park, with an arm extending east as far as King's Cross.

Finely done, it shows each tram track as a single line and includes sidings and
crossovers. Even if not drawn with an eye to absolute tramway accuracy, it
contains much of interest.

Ten individual files: SydCity01.jpg - SydCity10.jpg
Index file: _SydCity_Index.jpg

Scale of the original not given, but the map was scanned at 150 dpi and reduced
to 80% in order to create files of manageable size - these are in the 110-125 K
range.
