East end of Courtenay Place, 1961. I wrote the number of this Double-Saloon as
229, but it might be 220. Following it is an unidentified Fiducia, both just
having turned left from Kent Terrace. Since the latter is inbound as a 1 from
Island Bay, it stands to reason that its older sister is a 2 from Hataitai,
since these are the only two routes still serving this spot.
To the left of "Kent House" is the large Embassy Theatre building, and behind
both the slopes of Mount Victoria.
The night signal for route 1 was three blue lights, for route 2 a single white.
