Andrew,

503 went to San Jose and became the parts car (shame i enjoyed running that
car when it was here) and 520, as far as I know, is a complete car, if it's
missing anything, it's only the motors, I would assume Crich would be
keeping tabs on it!

Was it at
the Railway Museum there?

No. 478 was one of the New Orleans cars. It became their 454.

Peter, that's as maybe, but where was it before it got to NO? 1993
edition of Destination City (which wasn't exactly up-to-date on this
topic) lists 331, 503 and 626 as being at New Orleans at this time,
and 478 at "Wisconsin-location not known."

I thought it was at the same Wisconsin rail museum the UK streamline
4-6-2 A4 locomotive is kept and that it was subsequently sold on,
either directly to NO or via Gomaco. So if 478 wasn't the car in
Wisconsin, which was the car?

Thanks to those whe provided info about 520. Truly a remarkable story
which I hadn't heard before. Was it complete with trucks/motors/
controls and if so, is anyone keeping an eye out for it when the
present owner no longer has a use for it?
