David,
When I went down to New Orleans just after Riverfront opened, I rode both
Melbourne cars, and their 454 had Melbourne number 478 still in place on the
bulkhead above the cab door. As did 452 have Melbourne 626 in the same
place. So 503 must have been the one at Green Bay, now in Memphis.

I believe the M&MTB car from Green Bay WI now at Memphis was 478.
Was it at the Railway Museum there?Andrew D. Young
No. 478 was one of the New Orleans cars. It became their 454.

Peter, that's as maybe, but where was it before it got to NO? 1993
edition of Destination City (which wasn't exactly up-to-date on this
topic) lists 331, 503 and 626 as being at New Orleans at this time,
and 478 at "Wisconsin-location not known."
