The East Burwood line is to be extended about 2kms to Vermont South
within 4 years, eventually (possibly when another election is
looming) extended to Knox City. Once extended to VS, they are going
to have a connecting bus service for every tram to Knox City.
Docklands will form a loop and was meant to be done in 2000/2001 but
they found contaminated soil along the route, so they had to clean
it up. Then they (different government) decided to build the Collins
St extension, so the docklands loop got pushed back again as there
is going to be a junction where the 2 tram lines meet/cross. The 48
will go around the loop to St Vincents Plaza (Brunwick St/Vic Pde)
and the city circle will also take the larger loop.
