-Johann,it may look a bit odd these days but it used to be quite busy
in the peaks and it would not have been uncommon to have to get an
early running car out of the way and a double shunt was no big
deal,by the way this move wasn't what was usually known as a double
shunt,its probably the same now,a double shunt was when,the service
car say ran right to the end of the shunt to allow a car running in
to the depot to run into the shunt and depart first.I have a story
about such a shunt but I'm too stuffed to tell it now,I'll save it

I find that shunt a bit odd as there is two tracks in
the terminus. The crossover allows trams to run into
the up track and shunt back onto the down. What is the
down track for (the one where the Combino is sitting)?
You would have to double shunt just to get there.
