Maroon City Circle Ws are the main image of Melbourne used in tourist
adverts this side of the Tasman, but it seems a while since the traditional
Green and gold Ws have appeared. Zs, As etc appeared in a wonderful black
and white 'atmospheric' TV commercial for visiting Melbourne that was used a
year or two ago, but I haven't noticed it recently.

Don't forget though that it would be a lot easier to take photos of the trams that are actually out and about at the present moment. I guess you can use archival photos, but I suspect that may cost more $ than just a few snaps at the right time. Of course this is my speculation, if you know that archival photos of Ws are cheaper than taking photos of current trams, I would be happy to be corrected.

Of interest along similar lines - If you go to the Nova 100 web site home page (new Melbourne radio station aimed at the youth/young adult market), they use a W class tram in the banner at the top, and it looks like it's in the old MMTB livery, not even the green and yellow 'Met' livery. On one of the sections of the site, the banner has a Z class passing a safety zone.

Given Melbournians don't really use their public transport system, or seem to care particularly much about it, we still seem to have a fixation with trams...
