According to "Always a Tram in Sight" Graham Stewart's tour de force
concerning every tram to run in NZ (exceeding 700-800), the Chch
bogie sprinkler cars were as follows: No.2 McQuire Cummings St Louis
23A equal wheel and No.3 Cooper and Duncan equal wheel.

If you look at the angle of the pole and the taught rope, compared
the photo of the tower car, its seems fairly clear that on the
sprinkler it is indeed tied down well clear of the trolley wire!
In view of the recent dicsssion on trucks... what trucks are under
that sprinkler... they look fairly substantial?!?
