i believe the accident happened due to the driver of W2 559
experiencing a heart attack when the car was at russell st and it
failed to stop.that was quoted in the melb herald in may 1968.i saw
559 when it was damaged.when it was repaired it was sent to preston
depot to replace W2 233 in may 1971.no 233 was the most original
looking W2 in traffic at that
time. of the 1968 withdrawals some
cars were returned to service.nos 245 in may 1970,354 in dec
1969;434in june 1970,474 in december 1973,492 in feb1970,and 640 in
august 1973.jeff
