23.23 down slow plant train through Surrey Hills, destined for Blackburn: T363-P16-P18-P14...P17-T364-T395 (two of Steamrail’s Ts). I'm not sure if conveying rail or ballast or both.
Overnight: a liner tamper was working on the up line of the track trenched 2 years ago, at about 1 km/h.
On Saturday morning the tamping was working on the centre line. During the afternoon it was on the down line. At 14.05: a long machine (sleeper placer?) went thought, probably heading back to its Burnley home. Into the early evening a lengthy procession of track machines went by.
