275?  Dreadful thing. Weird alterations.  How many drivers bashed their heads as they were entering the cab from the saloon because of height difference. I sure did.  And it was ponderously slow. It was renumbered 1275 when A class arrived.

this year marks the 50th anniversary of the accident of W2 275 & vr
no 28 at carlisle & barkly st st kilda.no 28 failed to give way and
hit 275 in the drop centre section.no 28 suffered a damaged bumper
bar.275 later rebuilt as SW2 275,now at bendigo.no 28 became last car
from st kilds station to elwood depot on 28-2-59.body to sth
belgrave.i believe this was also the last time breakdown car no 20
ran up to st kilda to assist in clearing the accident.jeff
