Tram 983 has been out on test before and was commisioned at
Camberwell Depot. The tram is at the workshops for staff
evaluation
and training and will soon return to Southbank Depot for further
staff training. At the moment trolley pole trams cannot go to West
Preston over the new interchange, so W class are useless at the
moment (or surplus to requirements). The two that are completed
983
and 964 may see use on the city circle until there are enough W
class
trams modified, so the route 112 can be withdrawn and the 12 be
restarted. W class trams may enter the interchange and proceed to
the
siding only. Alastair

Thanks :-) There was a report in vicrail-news (Yahoo group) that
reported W.897 was transferred (towed) to Preston with the pole up
and via Gisborne/Brunswick Sts? They could use them on rte 31
shuttles instead of using the returned Z3s from M>Tram.

There also seems to be a shortage of trams available at the moment?
Several times I have seen As running on rte 75 and 86 instead of the
usual B2s.

cheers
Johann
