That was may take on it too; something to suck the stuff out of
the flangeways.
If there were a rotating grinding wheel, perhaps a lot of weight
wouldn't be necessary. Maybe there is one behind the vacuum
arrangement.
If the sign on the truck translates to "Bringing you a quieter ride",
or some such, maybe I'd change my opinion. (Wish I'd learned
German somewhere along the way, but WWII was too recent in
my teachers' memories!)
