Ok here's another possibility ...
Melbourne City Council is concerned about poor
infrastructute at the proposed site of the Comonwealth
Games village in Royal Park.
Solution:
Divert the West Coburg line down Oak Ave past the
village to join with Airport line near Flemington
bridge. That makes the zoo reserved track redundant -
great place for a museum tram service to the zoo
linked to a museum depot placed in the games village
site after the games have gone.
mal (in Singapore - definitely no-tram land)

The whole riverbank is going through changes and
some old rail right of way is there.

Subject: [TramsDownUnder] Possible tourist route
in Williamstown?
With talk in the local papers about a maritime
museum in
Williamstown. I have thought about running a
tourist tramline in the
area, using cars from the fleet at Newport. My
proposed route is as
followed:
From Williamstown Station, via Ann St, Nelson Pl,
The Strand,
terminating at either at North Rd, or continuing
along The Strand to
the former ferry site. This would also be a good
place for the
depot. The other location for the depot could be
at the end of the
the railway reserve. There is also the possibility
to extend the
line further South along Morris St and the
Esplanade, providing
service to the football oval, Fort Gellibrand and
the foreshore.
Any comments?
