Rolling into Eaglehawk

The bogie cars in Bendigo had fold up steps on the
drop centre sections. They were mechanically linked
from one side to the other so that when one was lifted
the other went down.

As this car (see photos) rolled into Eaglehawk in late
1971 the conductor had it down to a fine art. Curl
the foot under the footboard draw it up and roll down
the canvas blind in one smooth action.
