The February 2002 issue of "Trolley Wire", the magazine of the
Australian Tramway Muesums, has a short article in English language
giving an overview of the development of the Milano tram system.
The article has numerous photos and is intended for setting the scene
for an article to follow later in the year on the acquisition of the
Milano Peter Witt car for the Sydney Tram Museum and its conversion
to a double ended configuration to suit Australian conditions.
This particular issue of trolley wire marks its 50th anniversary,
since starting out as the newsletter for the South Pacific Electric
Railway Co-operative Society (now better known as the Sydney Tram
Museum) and also contains a photo retrospective of Australian tram
systems in 1952, as well as the normal news round up on happenings at
Australian tram museums.
I'm off to Europe tomorrow, including tram riding in Lisbon, Porto,
Barcelona, Milano, lots of places in Switzerland and London, so wont
be posting again till mid May.
Cheers,
Bill
