Flexible tram overhead in New Plymouth

New Plymouth had an early version of flexible
overhead on the tramways.
From the span wire fitting, two light wires about 2
feet long dropped down to the trolley wire forming as it were, a
triangle.
I hope the following two pictures will show what I
mean.
