---Yes,
Most of the overhead in WELLINGTON was indeed good old OHIO BRASS.
(OB produce a newsletter which was good reading.)
Wellington Workshops started to make their own versions in the form
of sweeps (segments) and small fittings which are easily recognised
in the sky because they have wire clips the full length of the
fitting, requiring no wire cutting, splicing or bending.
In later years European K +M was used for rehabilitation in a big way
in the city area and included special work.
Since then the K + M special work has all but disappeared alegedly
being unable to stand up to the strain. The outer suburbs have some
sections of it.
What you see these days is only a shadow of its former self, trolley
wires used to be in practically every street in the city,
There used to be TWO major routes in and out, with heaps of loops
and "Flexibility routes" .....A well known driver was heard to
comment that "A seagull couldn't shit throught it !).
In the final days of the trams, they too ran on Ohio Brass wiring and
fittings in the city. This was not as "User friendly" for the trams
and dewirements due to excessive speeds round curves became common,
due to the long spacings of the sweeps..centrifugal forces set up as
the cars rounded the curves at speed would cause the swivel head
(Also a trolley bus fitting ) to virtually "Flick" off the wire.
A small selection of the Italian Rebossio overhead imported for the
proposed Auckland System found its way to Welligton but was
unsuitable.
One set of points was installed leading into Kilbirnie Workshops from
Onepu road.

The overhead appears to be good old Ohio Brass, which was universal
USA until 1981, when K&M overhead appeared in San Francisco.
