Thank you, Malcolm - very much appreciated. I can compare it with photos I
took at the same spot in August, when I expected to find work underway but
found only a solitary surveyor's tripod. Further progress photos would be
very welcome. I understand from Yarra that some of the track will be
grassed, which will be a Melbourne first, and could be applied to a lot of
existing tracks.

At the other end of 109 - did anything come of the proposal to extend the
line onto the pier? Mention of it has disappeared from the Yarra website.

BTW, if anyone wants specific photos of Wellington's unique trolleybuses
just let me know and I will post them. Work is going on in developing a
prototype low-floor next generation trolleybus, which should hit the road in
April/May. The design engineer for the project is a tram/trolley fan and
quite a close friend of mine. I visit him at the workshops quite often to
keep abreast of developments.
