RE: W8 the car that NEARLY made it.

There
was never any response to my plea for a situation report re the return to
service of the Ws. Is anyone on the spot prepared to file an update for us
out-of-towners? Thanks!
It
looks as though the "W8" would have fixed many of the weak spots in the existing
Ws which, as described to me by the Yarra guys, make them difficult to use in a
modern tramway system. In which case the National Trust has done
the objective of preserving the Ws in regular operation a distinct
dis-service!
PS -
what is the status of the Box Hill extension, too?
Cheers,
Brent Efford

AFAIK the National Trust objected to the amount of
conversion done to the tram which effectively killed
off its completion.
