It's belts and braces, Andrew.

One breaks you still got the pole under control.

Too many schmucks fell off tram roofs and hurt themselves so they weren't
allowed to go up anymore. The second rope avoided a lot of unnecessary
delays if only one broke (I never saw only one rope break but maybe it
happened).

Does ayone have a shot of Z1 as new in '75? I used to have a
promotional poster done in the mid 70's with a shot of Cable
Tram set 1 and Z1. An as new shot of a Z will make a very
good comparison to the 2002 shot- gone is the orange paint,
trolleypoles and flip over destination signs. I hope they
have kept a Z in original condition - today's garbage,
tomorrows history and all that!
