Bill,
The entire CC service is now "W" but, until the next two arrive, still
finish at 3 pm
Green Car 983 has had a new brake system designed by Westinghouse with truck
mounted brake cylinders fitted and is being tested, as soon as it is
approved, the rest will be rotated through the shops to be done and
overhauled.

A few are on the City Circle, with no ticket machines, heaviliy
modified with track braking systems and running a much reduced
service.

Time will tell on that one. The operating comapnies certainly don'ts
eem to be any hurry to get them back on the road, despite their
contractural commitmens to do so.

To get back to my point, the fact remains that there were no Ws
operating in normal revenue service for many, many months and there
was no general public "stink" about it.
Its not my style to "personally attack" anyone. If you dont like my
posts, you can always page down to the next message.Especially as you have alluded to seeing reports and surveys
The M&MTB reports and surveys can be found in the State Library of
Victoria.back your statements up with references that others can pursue.
There is a rich body of published literature about public transit, its
planning and operation. The messages across the literature as whole
are very consistent on the coverage of passenger attitudes to public
transit. Even a little general reading on the topic, with "Transit
Australia" magazine being a good local starting point, will bring out
the salient points quickly and cleraly. And your opinions are no less and no more valid than anyone elses.
Cuts both ways Michael.
Cheers,
Bill
