Quite so, Herman.
I don't see any drama and it's ridiculous to maintain present overhead
alignments and frogs for a couple of antiques. I'd much rather have full
access to the tram network for any old cars than restricted access for
poles.

One option that does not seem to have been discussed
is to equip the W2s with pantographs, like the Peter
Witts and other historic vehicles in Milan. While
perhaps not historically accurate, it would remove the
reqquirement that the overhead wiring be comaptible
with trolleys.
