There are plans to do just that. one car is being so fitted.

One option that does not seem to have been discussed
is to equip the W2s with pantographs, like the Peter
Witts and other historic vehicles in Milan. While
perhaps not historically accurate, it would remove the
reqquirement that the overhead wiring be comaptible
with trolleys.
