Yes and if you were to visit Bylands during the week you would find
the gate closed and the place deserted! Oh well at least you can
climb over the fence, have a good nosey about and test the security.

Wouldn't know, I've only ever gone on weekends...8^)
(by car I might point out...)

If there was a tramway museum in Melbourne, with an associated
heritage operation connecting a number of the city's superb heritage
and tourist sites, this could run successfully on a 7/7 basis -
simply an extension to the present city circle.

For all the fur flying around regarding running old trams vs. modern trams
vs. old trams in operational service vs. old trams in museums etc, I think
the people who volunteer at Bylands do a good job for what it's worth. The
only disappointment is some of the old MMTB bus fleet still being outdoors...8^(

The trams seem in good nick and undercover, and the volunteers there are
very friendly and good to chat with on the few times I've been.
