Back in June, I posted this:

Loan of bow collector
During the last week of May the
Tasmanian Transport Museum Society
loaned an ex Hobart tramways bow
collector and base to Yarra Trams in
Melbourne. The equipment will be
used as patterns for the production
of similar equipment to be trialed
on their historic W class trams.
Yarra Trams currently operate 23 of
these trams, which are equipped
with pole collectors. They wish
to improve the reliability of the
overhead network in Melbourne and
are looking at fitting bow
collectors. This would allow
the network to be a pantograph only
configuration from its current duel
pole/pantograph arrangement. Mr
Craig Tooke of Yarra Trams visited
Hobart and with members David
Verrier and Don Lange inspected
tram No. 141 taking photographs and
measurements to assist in
developing suitable equipment.
Transport was arranged for the spare
collector and base which is expected
to be returned in about six months.

Is this connected, or has anyone
head more about the Bow collector
proposal? (I don't take credit for
the above piece, as I know it has
plenty of errors). The two may be
considered close in some
circumstances
