I saw a W-2 with pantographs years ago. I think it was a works or test car.

From 27/11/01, new insulator cut off markings will be trialled in 2
locations in the city (as yet unknown). This is in preparation for
Citadis
and Combino trams.

Currently there are triangle and circle markings, squares will be
introduced.

Triangles: A/Z class trams being driven from #1 end, Z3 from #2 end,
Comino3 #1 end and W Class with panto #1 end.

Circles: A/Z class trams being driven from #2 end, Z3 from #1 end,
Combino3
#2 end, Citadis either end, B class either end, Combino5 #1 end, W class
pole, and W class with panto #2 end.

Squares: Combino5 #2 end.

There is mention of W class trams with pantographs. A source tells me
there
is already one W fitted with a pantograph for testing purposes (it won't
be
seen on the road - yet). The feedback from the mechanics has been fairly
negative, so it probably won't go ahead.
