mmm...very tasty hook, line and sinker,re the right turn into Batman Ave.,I am fairly sure that the sign on the tramway pole on the left curb is still there,it says NO RIGHT TURN.then in tiny print"buses and taxis excepted",if you made a right turn now you would find that they have put Batman Ave.somewhere else.Greg, love the Brisbane shots, just seeing Bardon on the destination gives me goose pimples,I hope Clem Jones is doing it hard in the afterlife.[Dear Yanks,Clem Jones was the Lord Mayor of Brisbane responsible for closing a beautiful tramway],WGB,still have your shot of 3 bogie cars in Geelong on my desktop, have you got the neg?would love to make a large print of it.Regards to all,Peter B.--- In TramsDownUnder@y..., "Graeme Bennett" <wgbtttco@d...> wrote:

Ah good lad.... Rising to the bait like I hoped you would. :)

When I first worked at North Fitzroy, we provided the buses for the
Chapel Street run on Sundays.
They were always Mk 2 MAN's which were being introduced then.
I suspect that Footscray may have provided a bus too, hence the Mk6.
I always enjoyed taking the meal break at South Melbourne so I could
have a good prowl around the shed.
When running back into service we had to make an interesting RIGHT
turn from St Kilda Road into Batman Avenue to get back on route.

Of interest was the North Coburg - Upfield train replacement bus
service on Sundays.
Here again North Fitzroy supplied the buses, but some of the
mealbreaks were covered by a Footscray bus.
