I regularly worked the Upfield rail replacement bus from the Sydney Road
tram terminus out of Footscray Depot.

I used Mk VI and later used the Volvo B-59s we had at Footscray for the
Bridge route (941-949).

Ah good lad.... Rising to the bait like I hoped you would. :)

When I first worked at North Fitzroy, we provided the buses for the
Chapel Street run on Sundays.
They were always Mk 2 MAN's which were being introduced then.
I suspect that Footscray may have provided a bus too, hence the Mk6.
I always enjoyed taking the meal break at South Melbourne so I could
have a good prowl around the shed.
When running back into service we had to make an interesting RIGHT
turn from St Kilda Road into Batman Avenue to get back on route.

Of interest was the North Coburg - Upfield train replacement bus
service on Sundays.
Here again North Fitzroy supplied the buses, but some of the
mealbreaks were covered by a Footscray bus.
