inbound trams had several alternatives

from George St: to George St Nth/Millers Point OR Cir Q East - Ft Mac

from Castlereagh St: via Bent St to Loftus St, These trams could continue around to Ft Mac. if required
Later there was a connection from Bent St along Spring St directly back into Pitt St.

from Elizabeth St: via Phillip St into Young St. Some services continued to Ft Mac via Macquarie St.
Later there was a connection from Phillip to Bent St allowing access to Loftus or Spring Sts.

Outbound:

from Ft Mac/C Q East: to George St OR Pitt St OR (with a shunt) to Phillip St.
Some services operated from Ft Mac via Macquarie St to Phillip St while this line existed.

from Young St: around into Phillip St.
Cars could shunt to access Pitt St if required

from Loftus St: to Pitt St or Phillip St
