Frankston line: Trains will not stop at Parkdale until mid 2024 (level-crossing removal work). Shuttle buses will operate Mentone - Parkdale - Mordialloc, connecting with trains. No access to station facilities or platforms during this time.
Public transport is the best way to get to and from the AFL match at MCG today.  Gates open at 17.10; the match starts at 19.25.

11.00  Mernda line: Major delays (an equipment fault in the Epping area). Trains may remain stationary for extended periods at or between stations. trains may terminate/originate at intermediate stations.
- 11.18 clearing.
17.00 Frankston line: Major delays (a train fault in the Richmond area).  Trains may remain stationary for an extended period at or between stations. Trains may be altered or cancelled.  Trains will terminate/originate at Caulfield.  Buses may supplement train services between South Yarra - Caulfield during this time
- 17.28 Trains are moving, with major delays.
- 17.36 Only announcement at Frankston so far is that a train has been delayed by 15 min.
21.54 Usual arrangements for traffic returning from MCG.  All entrances to Jolimont and Richmond are open.  [I arrived at ~22.00, via Swan St.  Footpaths were full; the station was busy; platform 9/10 was packed, but not unsafe.  A ~22.04 Belgrave took perhaps 2 min to load, but we all got on, as others were waiting for an imminent Glen Waverley].
23.26 Lilydale/Belgrave/Alamein lines: Major delays (a'n operational incident' in the Camberwell area).  Trains may remain stationary at or between stations for extended period.  Trains may be altered or cancelled.
