Interesting to note that the Parramatta tramway track is laid to
railway standard, not tramway standard.
I assume that the wheels are also to railway profile.

It appears to have a been a BIG help that they employed a German
consultancy who used the German BOStrab standard as their working
base.

Unlike Sydney who engaged a US based heavy rail consultancy to
advise.

 I'm sure the tram tracks down Allison Road could take 35tonne axle
load iron ore wagons with ease. There is enough concrete and rebar
under it.
